Currie is a very small town in Elko County, midway between
Ely, Nevada and Cobre, Nevada
Copper mining in Ely promoted the construction of the railroad from Ely to the Southern Pacific main line in Cobre.
The first train passed through Currie March 22, 1906.
The copper mines closed in March, 1983.
The railroad closed the next day.
The population of Currie is 20.
