Named for the East Fork of the Carson River which flows nearby in Douglas County, Nevada.
The East Fork Hotel served as a Basque boarding house until the late 1870’s when a fire destroyed the lobby bar and left many sheepherders seeking new quarters.
Although it is shuttered it still stands along U.S. 395 in downtown Gardnerville.
